The 大发快三彩票Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS) recently hosted its first-ever Indigenous traditional knowledge sharing and learning day, Mawi-lukutimk, which means 鈥済athering and working together.鈥 The event took place on September 3, two years after the Faculty of IKERAS began delivering UPEI鈥檚 mandated IKE 1040: Indigenous Teachings course and offering a Minor in Indigenous Studies. It is considered a historic milestone by everyone involved.

A team of researchers from across Canada, led by Dr. Aitazaz Farooque, professor and interim associate dean of the 大发快三彩票School of Climate Change and Adaptation, has received $6.93 million in federal funding to develop precision agriculture techniques to ensure food security and mitigate climate change.

At the time, I indicated we would have many more opportunities to move our discussions along.

大发快三彩票increases support for graduate students through new fellowship program

UPEI鈥檚 Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) is establishing a new fellowship program for incoming and existing graduate students in research thesis-based graduate programs.

鈥淐ompetitive financial support is an important factor in the recruitment and retention of graduate students at UPEI,鈥 said Dr. Greg Naterer, vice-president, academic and research. 鈥淕raduate assistantships and supervisor grant/contract funding provide a common form of graduate student support. In addition, graduate fellowships have a significant role.鈥

Rathlyn Foundation donates $1M for entrance scholarships to UPEI-based medical students

Beginning in the fall of 2025, the Rathlyn Foundation Entrance Scholarships for 大发快三彩票Medical Students will be granted to every UPEI-based medical student in their first year of study. These $2,000 individual scholarships will be funded in perpetuity by an overall gift of $1,000,000 from the Rathlyn Foundation.
