Aotearoa (New Zealand) - Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies (IKERAS)鈥
Course name: "Global Indigeneity" (IKE 3090-1)

Dates of travel: Approximately May 13鈥23, 2026 (may fluctuate depending on available flights)
Course overview: The course will be inquiry based. Students will conduct their own field research, photographing, videoing and documenting what they see as part of their research for an extended photo or video essay. Students will have a chance to engage with the past and present and examine and participate in how a similarly colonized nation (Aotearoa) has navigated the complexities of being a global Indigenous nation.
Method of instruction: This course will have three interrelated components; i) a series of five, 75-minute lectures held at 大发快三彩票to familiarize students with the extent, nature, effects and issues associated with Global Indigeneity (two classes), program agenda, and Moodle Pre-Departure Session (one class), expectations, safety, and assessment (one class), and program summary (one class upon return); ii) a ten-day immersive experiential learning program based in Christchurch (South Island) with daily prompted reflective journal entries; and iii) the creation of a photo or video essay that draws upon their experiences and reflections. This will require students to assess, contextualize and begin to interpret global Indigeneity and how this reflects the values and ideals of themselves as students and as global citizens.
Pre-requisites: IKE 1040. Please note that students can expect an abundance of walking throughout each day, and at times on uneven surfaces.
Costs: SOME FUNDING IS AVAILABLE FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY!
- $150 Application Fee (non-refundable and this goes towards administrative costs - due at the time of application.)
- $500 Program Deposit (this will be applied towards student program - due October 15, 2025)
- $2,500 Start-up Fee (this will be applied towards student program - due March 1, 2026)
- Tuition - Undergraduate or Graduate course fee (*Canada Student Grants and Loans for Part-Time Students | Government of Prince Edward Island Students will have to apply. Maymesters are considered part-time programs.)
- Flights - the sooner we have a full roster, the sooner we can book flights. It is best to budget up to $4,000 for flights in the most expensive booking case scenarios.
- Aotearoa Program Fees - approximately $3,800 This includes all accommodations, all transportation, program guides and experiences, all breakfasts, two group suppers and all meals during a two-day marae visit.
- Food - all other lunch, supper, and snacks are student responsibility.
Paris, France - Department of English
Course name: "Modernism in Paris" (ENGL 3910)

Dates of travel: Approximately May 20鈥30, 2026 (may fluctuate depending on available flights)
Course overview: This course is experiential-based. Based in Paris, it will immerse students in the environment within which English-speaking modernist authors wrote, interacted, and lived their lives. Students will spend ten days in Paris, as we discuss the sites and scenes where literature by James Joyce, Gertrude Stein, and F. Scott Fitzgerald was written, published, and read. We will visit literary salons, modernist art museums, bookshops and caf茅s as we reimagine for ourselves the Paris that inspired so much innovative and exciting literature. The course will begin with online lectures and resources along with online information sessions, all of which will prepare you for the overseas experience. Students will read a few modernist poems, short stories, and a short novel all written in or set in post-war Paris. Among other sites, students will visit the Louvre, the Palace of Versailles, and Claude Monet鈥檚 gardens at Giverny.
Method of Instruction: Instruction is online from May 4鈥揓une 15, with students meeting the instructor in Paris no later than May 20.

London and Stratford-upon-Avon, England - Department of English
Course name: "Place, Plays, and Playhouses: Shakespeare in London and Stratford-upon-Avon" (English 2910)

Dates of travel: Approximately June 1鈥8, 2026 (may fluctuate depending on available flights)
Course overview: There is nothing like seeing a live performance of Shakespeare, especially at the Globe Theatre in London or in Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-Upon Avon. This 2000-level course explores Shakespeare through performances, workshops, backstage tours, and site visits in both London and Stratford-upon-Avon. The course begins with asynchronous online lectures and resources and two online information sessions, all of which will prepare you for the overseas experience; you will read the four Shakespeare plays in this period and have the chance to discuss them and write about them online, followed by 7 days of travel. Students will see at least four plays and visit the Globe Theatre, Shakespeare's birthplace and grave, the archaeological dig at the Rose Theatre foundations, as well as a variety of other galleries, theatres, and historic sites that locate Shakespeare in the places he was writing in, about, and for.
Method of Instruction: Instruction is online from May 11-29, with students meeting the instructor in London no later than June 1. Assessment includes:

- One or two 2-page play reviews 20%
