Important dates for students in residence. Note: Not all programs follow these dates. Please check with your program, and check with Residence Life if you have a conflict.

September 2025

Wednesday, September 3

• Fall Semester classes begin.

Tuesday, September 16

• All Fall Semester fees due.

Tuesday, September 30

• National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. No classes.

October 2025

Monday, October 13

• Thanksgiving Day. No classes.

Tuesday, October 14 to Friday, October 17

• Mid-semester break. No classes.

November 2025

Tuesday, November 11

• Remembrance Day. No classes.

December 2025

Wednesday, December 4

• Final day of Fall Semester classes

Tuesday, December 9 to Thursday, December 18

• Examinations. All residence rooms should be vacant within 24 hours after a student's final exam unless a student has made prior arrangements for a move-out extension, or has made a holiday break accommodation request (certain restrictions apply). Information about how to apply for a temporary extension will be made available in mid-November.

Friday, December 19

• Residence closes for Winter break. Students may apply for extensions or to stay for the Winter break. Extensions will be made available in mid-November.

January 2026

Sunday, January 11

• Residence open for Winter Semester starting at 9:00 am. First meal in dining hall is dinner at 4:30 pm.

Monday, January 12

• Winter Semester classes begin.

Friday, January 23

• Final day for registration, for changing courses or sections, for cancellation of courses or sections, for cancellation of courses with full refund.

Tuesday, January 27

• All Winter Semester fees due.

February 2026

Monday, February 16

• Islander Day. No classes.

Tuesday, February 17 to Friday, February 20

• Mid-semester break. No classes. (Does not apply to Bachelor of Education program).

Tuesday, February 17 

• Registration begins for 2026 Summer Semester.

Monday, February 23 

• Classes resume.

Friday, February 27

• Last day to discontinue courses with 50% tuition refund. No discontinuation after this date.

April 2026

Friday, April 3

• Good Friday. No classes.

Monday, April 6

• Easter Monday. No classes

Tuesday, April 14

• Final day of Winter Semester classes.  

Friday, April 17 to Monday, April 27

• Examinations. Students need to move out 24 hours after their last exam. Please consult the exam schedule before you make travel arrangements.  

Tuesday, April 28

• Residences close and all students to be moved out. Final meal in dining hall is breakfast on Tuesday, April 28.
