The St. John Henry Newman Dinner Returns! The sixth Blessed John Henry Newman Dinner is scheduled for Friday, October 2024, and it will honour Most Rev. Joseph Dabrowski, Bishop of Charlottetown, as this year’s Newman Fellow. The Newman Mass will be offered at 5:15 pm in the ´ó·¢¿ìÈý²ÊƱChaplaincy Centre with a reception and dinner to follow in the SDU Engineering 1954 Lecture Hall, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering building.

Sisters in Spirit vigils have been held every October 4 since 2006 in the memory of Canada’s murdered and missing Indigenous women, girls, and gender-diverse people. Sisters in Spirit Day raises public awareness to ensure that everyone, regardless of their cultural background, is aware of this crisis of violence and calls on us take action.

On September 24, 1998, the Government of Canada officially proclaimed the last Sunday of September of every year as Police and Peace Officers' National Memorial Day. It is an annual opportunity to formally express appreciation for the dedication of police and peace officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and to offer condolences to the surviving families of those who gave their lives in the service of their communities. The day will be observed at a provincial service at Trinity United Church, 90 Spring Street, Summerside, PEI, on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 2:00 pm.

The ´ó·¢¿ìÈý²ÊƱmen’s and women’s basketball teams are ready to roll at the annual Mickey Place Memorial Basketball Tournament! The tournament features nine teams from across Canada and runs from Friday, September 27, to Sunday, September 29.
