All 大发快三彩票employees and students are welcome to attend FREE yoga classes
every Wednesday from 12:00-12:45 pm at the 大发快三彩票Chaplaincy Centre.
When the weather is nicer, we'll move the class outdoors in the quadrangle
area.
Please bring your own towel and/or mat, and don't forget to bring
some water to hydrate. Fitness instructor Anna Lacroix will help you relax and
focus on your inner strengths.
The program is provided to 大发快三彩票employees and students through a partnership
with 大发快三彩票Wellness and the Chaplaincy Centre, and will take place for the whole summer.
For more information, please contact Angela Marchbank, Fitness & Wellness coordinator
at amarchbank@upei.ca.
Hello fellow graduate students,

VP External: Valerie Campbell
Business Representative: Krystal Mayne
Education Representative: Alaina Roach

No one is running for the other positions. However, this is not to say that I will not accept other nominations. If I receive a nomination for a currently vacant position between now and this Friday, May 31 at 12 pm, the name will be entered into the running for election.
Here is a list of the currently uncontested positions:
鈥 Vice President Internal
鈥 Media Relations
鈥 Science Representative
鈥 Arts Representative
鈥 Nursing Representative
As of now until next Sunday evening (June 2, 8 pm), the campaigning period is open, so I would encourage the candidates to talk to fellow grad students about the GSA, the position they are running for, and why they should vote for them.
Voting will take place through your 大发快三彩票campus login on June 3 and 4.

I am pleased to announce a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Sustainability
and Global Environmental Change to be staffed at UPEI. The challenges
facing Prince Edward Island that arise from extreme weather, rising sea
levels, coastal erosion, threats to biodiversity, energy self-sufficiency,
resource scarcity, food security, employment security, et al. are
increasingly pronounced in island environments around the world. These
challenges are an opportunity to harness science and technology to foster a
transition toward sustainability鈥攖oward patterns of development that
promote human well-being while conserving life-support systems both locally
and globally. The Chair will have a multidisciplinary approach to research
in areas encompassing one or more of the following: Island Studies,
Renewable Energy, Climate Change, Biodiversity, Sustainable Tourism,
Sustainability Science, or Reorienting Education Towards Sustainability.
Each area has the potential to position 大发快三彩票at the forefront of global
change research as well as link partners, sectors, practitioners and
citizens to advance expertise and application in critical sustainability
areas.
A CRC Application Review Committee for this opportunity is being convened
and I would welcome your suggestions on members for this committee. Please
contact me by email at rgilmour@upei.ca or phone 566-0637.
More information on the Canada Research Chairs program may be found at
